Midwest USA

Growing up in California and then living in NYC most of my adult life, I’ve always considered the Midwest as one big flyover zone with nothing of interest.  However, my husband is from the Midwest so I’ve been to Nebraska more times than anywhere else in the US.  In the fall of 2024, we decided to do an extended road trip from Nebraska to the west coast, visiting a few Midwest states along the way.  I wanted a glimpse into the side of America I did not know; the farmlands, conservative small towns, areas where you can drive for hundreds of miles without commerce.  Yes the drives are boring and there are very few places of interest on paper, but the vast lands, dramatic weather, and iconic wildlife are nothing short of extraordinary beauty and something to be appreciated.
